Overview
One of the many reasons Cascade Fellowship flourishes is because of the humble, Christlike leaders who serve as elders and deacons of the church. Prayerful consideration is needed to discern those who God may be calling to provide spiritual leadership over the next three years – the caring, godly, and visionary people who exhibit the qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
Eligibility for Elder and Deacon Nominees
- Nominees must be at least 18 years of age and have been active confessing members of Cascade Fellowship for at least one year.
- Nominees cannot have served as an elder or deacon within the last two years.
- No more than one member of a family shall serve as an office-bearer at any one time. This includes spouses, parents, children, siblings, and in-laws, even if they do not live in the same physical household.
- A person may not be on staff and also serve as a deacon or elder. Also, family members of staff, including spouses, parents, children, siblings, and in-laws, are not eligible to serve.
- Elders and deacons are asked to indicate their agreement with our creeds and confessions by signing the Covenant for Officebearers.
