As we continue reading Revelation 1, we discover that the book is not just apocalyptic literature, but also a prophetic message, and a circular letter. John begins his letter with a vision of who Jesus is today. Jesus clearly looks different than he did in his first coming. He is risen and reigning, powerful and victorious! The chapter ends with a reminder that he is also among the churches, caring for them. No matter what we endure, we can be confident Jesus is with us and for us. This is sometimes hidden, but it is always true!
