Pastor Bill opened our new series on the book of Revelation by focusing on its very first words, “the revelation.” This tells us a lot about the genre of literature we’re about to read — apocalyptic. The key to understanding Revelation is understanding the peculiarities of apocalyptic literature. To get grounded, we’ll look an example from the Old Testament, Daniel 7, which teaches us that God is sovereign and will win in the end, no matter what!
