The Lord’s Supper is the sacrament God uses to assure of that we share in Christ’s benefits. It is a visible reminder that Jesus’ body and blood were given for us. Just as food and drink strengthen our bodies, God is at work in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper to nourish our souls.
