See what God can do through your generosity. There are several ways you can give, including online and by text message.
In addition to your regular tithes and offerings, we encourage you to consider giving this week to Partner Ministries. We partner with several West Michigan-based, Christ-centered organizations to further impact Christ’s Kingdom.
The Sharing Fund is used by the deacons to meet one time emergency benevolence requests in our Forest Hills community as well in the Godwin Heights community. Often the needs include utility bills or rent payments. Thanks to your generous giving, the balance of the Sharing Fund is healthy and the deacons wanted to think creatively about additional opportunities to use the Sharing Fund money to benefit the community in new and impactful ways. This spring the deacons developed and launched a new grant program called The SURVIVING TO THRIVING GRANT. This grant was created to help committee selected recipients take the next step in life, meeting a specific need that would allow them to move ahead. The grant money is intended to provide training that may lead to a new career, or transportation that opens up job possibilities, for example.
The grant is managed by a committee made up of one deacon and one lay person from Cascade Fellowship and one each from Community CRC, conducting interviews of the applicants and awarding the grant money. We are thankful to Pastor Dave from Community CRC for assisting in screening possible recipients and it is with joy that we announce our first ever Surviving to Thriving Grant recipient. The recipient used the grant money to buy a car that enabled them to get a better job.
As our grant recipient now moves into their own home they are in need of many household items. Would you consider donating items to our Surviving To Thriving Grant recipient to help them THRIVE! Call the church office for a list of specific needs,
616-949-4342. Thank you for your generous giving to the Sharing Fund.
It is with great joy that we announce Nick Sherman has accepted the role as the church’s Administrative Director! He was in this role a few years ago and has prayerfully considered coming back on staff. He has supported this role on a volunteer basis while it was vacant and has felt God’s calling to return. Welcome back, Nick!
We are still looking for a Student Ministry Lead to join Pastor Eric and Paige on the Family Ministries team. Please join us in prayer over finding the right candidate and encourage qualified applicants to apply. It’s an exciting time to join our ministry! If you or someone you know is interested, please email Nick Sherman.
